The Independent State of Maktuba | Thursday, May 13, 2004 - 07:51 am 5 game months from declare to post |
Chulbania | Friday, May 28, 2004 - 01:22 am Finally got my first C3. Took 2 game years 11 game months or 17 1/2 days real time. Good thing I finally finished it the month before the anniversary. Otherwise I would have gone bananas waiting since September lagged several hours. I blew my first campaign attacking the airport head-on with my AAMBs so I had to rebuild my military completely since my tanks(another mistake) also ran out. Luckily I overbought ammo so I only had to buy weapons again. My second campaign only took 4 game months which is how long the war should have taken. |
FAT Tributary 4 | Friday, May 28, 2004 - 01:24 am Luckily persistence paid off. Third times a charm I guess |
The Grand State of Sacoma | Friday, May 28, 2004 - 06:30 am I just took my 4th slave (late August). My first one (Maktuba) hasn't even gotten back to 100 war index This one (literally this one) took a little longer than Maktuba. 9 game months from declare to win, counting from the country that declared first. Wouldn't have made it until this game month if I didn't remember about transferring weapons. |
West Chulbania | Sunday, May 30, 2004 - 01:01 am I noticed Spassky. The news of my victory was on the main news page for this world for a few minutes and when it changed months yours showed. I checked your empire out. Nice setup only 1 neighbor. |
Spassky | Wednesday, June 02, 2004 - 04:42 am I tried to be candid. You figured me out. lol. I hope your recent conquest is the first of many. |
Country of Belew | Saturday, June 12, 2004 - 03:29 am hehehehe. While it did take 7 months from declare to post. I tryed attacking with more units this time and with artillery instead of tanks. Yet it took almost 45,000 artillery units before I got it. I almost purchased 15,000 more in my main and second country but ended the war and cancelled the orders. I think I'll back off from buying units until I can clean up my nasty mess with my hospitals. I converted 100 into war hospitals in my main and 50 in my second so my health index plummeted in both. That and my mlms are almost completely gone. I got emails from two of the ceos in this country and while one didn't sound too upset. The other one bid on two of my 200billion+ corps so I think he is mad. |
Spassky | Saturday, June 12, 2004 - 12:46 pm It's usually a good idea to let the CEOs know you're plans before you execute them (both meanings). I find when I tell CEOs that I plan to take the country one of their corps is in, they usually are cooperative, if not amicable. About hospitals--YIKES!!! I know what you mean. It's worse in the country you take over because you don't have a chance to prep it with regular hospitals. I looked at your setup, and I have to say, I think the next country you try taking should be without using land units at all. That is, part of your problem with East was probably population. Higher pop. countries are easier to take (for several reasons) 1 More high pop targets 2 More targets spreads the defenses thinner etc. Good luck on your next conquests (and speedy recovery from your wounded/mlm problem) |
Chulbania | Saturday, June 12, 2004 - 06:39 pm I checked out the wounded in Belew before I capped it and 1/10th of the wounded were being recovered by war hospitals that didn't exist! Too bad it stopped when I capped it. This country was actually easier to take than last time. It would have taken only two months for the war but I started attacking late, it dragged into the next month and I had to wait for more weapons And what exactly do you mean by not using land units. I'd think you mean to use Fighter Planes, Attack Helicopters, and Bombers. How many of each and which would I need to take a country? |
East Chulbania | Sunday, June 13, 2004 - 01:13 am This is weird. I still have 1,200 billion in war damage in my second and only 123 billion war damage in this country. When the month changed all of the counties and cities I destroyed disappeared along with over 1,000 billion in war damage. I did about the same thing in my second except most of the things I destroyed weren't even visible. It took me several months before I got my second to a high enough net worth to buy an offensive military base. I can buy one right now in this country. |
Spassky | Monday, June 14, 2004 - 06:09 pm Nice. I wish 1T of the war damage in each of my slaves would just disappear! |
Some country | Saturday, June 19, 2004 - 11:53 am just like I wish this moldy sandwich would dissapear O.O |
Chulbania | Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 06:09 am It will disappear eventually. But I don't think you'll want to wait as long as it will take. |
Some country | Sunday, June 20, 2004 - 11:43 pm Yeah, sandwiches reek after that long a time |
Nimzovich | Tuesday, June 22, 2004 - 12:10 am Sandwiches--the new toilets? * throws partially digested moldy sandwich at Some country * |
