Ummagumma | Thursday, December 11, 2003 - 11:41 pm I may have been away from the game too long. but I just attacked a country's airport with 1200 off. anti aircraft batteries and 200 fighter planes. I clicked attack defences thinking it would attack the interceptors and helicopters. I lost everything and destroyed 22 helicopters. I dont know what the f### just happened. can anybody explain. |
Infidelia | Saturday, December 13, 2003 - 04:15 am 1200 off. aircraft batteries and 200 fighter planes won't do s*** to to 1800 helicopters, 100 interceptors, and the f***ton of defensive anti-aircraft missile batteries. |
Ummagumma | Sunday, December 14, 2003 - 01:54 am haha. thanks. It used to be quite a bit easier. |
Catch me now before i turn to gold | Tuesday, December 16, 2003 - 10:39 am 1. attack defenses at a county, not the airport itself. 2. Buy about double the units you used. 3. Be prepared for a very difficult land war after the air force dies. lots of land units is a must 4. Dont even try taking a distant country untli youve built your miltiary and economy to a high level. The best way to do this is to use your immediate neighbors as reource and labor farms |
Ummagumma | Friday, December 19, 2003 - 06:38 am Thanks |
Ummagumma | Friday, December 19, 2003 - 06:42 am I just destroyed all the country's defences, the bases and airports as well as all the cities and towns, most of the counties, most of the factories, and all of the fortifications. There is almost nothing left to destroy and the countries war index is still at around 25. I used up more than half a million attack helicopter missiles, as well as several nuclear missiles and Hbombs. Can't figure our why I havent taken it over yet. I think it could be that the war has taken me so long (because I always run out of ammo) that the war index keeps going up. Still it hasnt been that long since I started attacking. |
New Technologies Inc | Friday, December 19, 2003 - 08:42 am Well, one of the factories you destroyed was mine. Probably one that has been there for ages as I haven't built a new one for quite some time... and I got more debt from it too... go me. |
Ummagumma | Saturday, December 20, 2003 - 12:59 am Sorry about that I was getting frustrated and I stopped checking if their state owned or private. I just leveled everything. |
When you look into the abyss | Saturday, December 20, 2003 - 06:03 pm 5. Dont destroy corporations. The business and trade index is now a huge factor in the war index. Destroy most of the batteris in a country, then damage the corporationss to 80% or a bit more...but dont destroy them. The B&T index is a representation of the % of total productive capacity being used. If a country has 10 corporations damaged for 50%, then the b&T index will be at 50. if 9 of those corporations are destroyed and one is undamaged, the b&t index will be 100. Given the fact that most c3s autbuild corporations, destroying all the corporations is a fast track to frustration. for every 3 points of b&T index removed, you will receive one war index point reduction. Note that the b&t index doesnt update until the country updates, which may be around a month after you start the war proper. Hit the airforce, take out the batteries as much as possible with land units, then use more land units to damage the corporations. Then hit the cities, and after all the big targets are hit...wait a month. When the coutnry updates (youll know becasue its paper will show things from the new month), send one attack with one unit. The war index will drop like a stone if you damaged corps properly (a b&T index of 10 will give you 30 war index points....so if the war index is less than 30, youll win automatically on that attack). Onlly then should you bother to attack all the bitty targets if necessary. Ive taken a 6M pop c3 in this way without *too* much difficulty (had to destroy all but 2 counties :P), but the cheap weapons prices and fsater ttack rounds on FB help a lot. Sorry for not saying more earlier. Wasnt sure anyone actually played here. |
Ummagumma | Sunday, December 21, 2003 - 09:32 am yup, I still play here, probably not for long. Final exam marks are a good deterent from playing. Thanks for the advice. I'll try it on another country. |
