your all laughing shits | Thursday, June 10, 2004 - 07:41 pm with the exception of a few, most federations are very unorginised. this is due to a lack of communication, the mail service provided by w3c is very unhelpful because it is limited to something like 500 charactors and cannot be formatted into an easy to read form. many federations have used off site message boards for communication which works very well, but is limited because many players do not take the time to go to the site. forcing players to follow this rule is very difficult to enforce because you don't want to boot members or will not have any members left. instant communication programs like MSN and ICQ are very helpful for federations and players because they allow for more direct communication and allow for a higher degree of bonding between players. but are bothersome because you cannot "get away" from message bombardment. the best way for federations to communicate would be through an ingame message board that is only accessable by federation members. a game called Playteq (www.playteq.com) has this kind of board and has the highest amount of skilled teams and players I have ever seen in any online game. if SC was to use this kind of federation page the level of play would skyrocket to never befor reached hieghts. I think the only way for this to happen is if ever player was to bombard w3c with e-mails demanding fed boards. we all know that the amount of active players in the worlds is falling on a daily basis. I believe this is why w3c has made golden rainbow features available in the free worlds, to increase desire to play. back to work, later. |
