Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 07:19 pm I registered Atlantic Lexiquariums country and encountered problems with education programs. Maximising the education priorities was not quite succesful as I supposed. And here is "my very strange problem": the output of university teachers was growing fast so that I could build everytime 1 university in a couple of months ... from a total need of 7 universities, while the school teachers were coming out so slow that I could build just 1 more school from a month to another ... no matter how hard I tried to increase the education priority index for this category ... so I was building 12 schools today at 21 priority and next month at 31 priority I was building just 13 schools and at 41 priority just 14 ... finally now I'm building 26 with a 71 priority index ... from a total need of thousands of schools (high schools to generate the needed high level worker category) ... |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 07:21 pm At this point I could just ask you: "what were you supposed to do if playing in my place?" But I tried to get inside the game's problems and get myself a solution ... |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 07:35 pm And the only solution I found was to push down my financial index, get some big credits, increase my offensive forces and conquer a country if not twenty or more. From there I was supposed to take high level workers, school teachers and money ... (through destruction ... and fun!). But I had lots of objections against these like: "I am not a violent guy", "I don't like to destroy anyth. anyhow", "I like to build" and so on ... And even more than these "I had a better solution". Usually if it happens to encounter lacks of high level workers in our real lifes, from our real countries we chose to emigrate to another country where all these are available and creates a better life for all. We also emigrate to another country if in our own there is plenty of high level workers unemployed. So "we emigrate and don't conquer countries!" |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 07:44 pm Well, I looked again inside my game problems and discovered that the high schools output consists of three categories: Low, Medium, High Level workers. And again I found these somehow unreal according to the reality of our world wide desired education systems. First of all because the workforce is rated in packs of "Three Cutegories" just on the slavery markets when it is sold (... like any common good): there are three prices ... the price we pay, any lower price or any higher price ... |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 07:55 pm In a real good-education system (perhaps today we can find it only in North America ... and not in every place of that map) ... the workforce output consists of "Four Types" based mostly on mobility and communication skills and recognised even by the population itself of any education level: First Type is the most "Hippo" of all ... is named "Low Organised workforce" (as the population recognisis itself) or the "low management and worker's organisation solution" |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 07:57 pm Second Type is the named "Middle Organised workforce" ... and not "medium organised ..." |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 08:21 pm ... even if it can be considered medium for the required management atributions. The third type is the "Team organised workforce". The fourth type is "High level workers" (able of individual performance or to teach others). All these four types can be found in several high schools, but not in all for the same purpose. Some of the populations never discovered more than the sport teams in high schools ... for the "bad examples" and some other populations are based mostly on the exchange of experience btw students, teaching each other various useful things ... all depends on the "national programs' of education or miseducation. |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 08:37 pm Now ... my problem is that I prefere not the third categories pack proposed by this game ... inspired from the slavery markets, but the four types pack. Another one of my problems with this game is: the High level workers and the Team organised workforce from my descriptions (corresponding to the High level workers from the current in-game description) are trained in most of the real countries or desired educational systems in governmental schools after graduation of high schools. So, why not give me the needed high level workforce from special schools that come after highschools ... this way will be more easier for me to train all the HLworkers I need. If 50 teachers are graduating now just 10 HLworkers in a usual high school ... may be I will train 500 HLworkers if in a special school just for these trainings. In the real life of the slave countries it is used to train these HLworkers near the industry establishments, meaning, later, higher salaries for older and experienced workforce trained to become of High level type. In free economies these are trained by the governmental schools when they are young and without higher requests of salaries. I consider both ways good ... and with each one of these I can get my thousands of HL workers in less than 6 months. |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 08:56 pm Another educational problem: in our real life we do not demolish hundreds of elementary schools in one month ... cause this was what this game asked me to do to save the needed high schools. 357 schools demolished in one month? Or 357 more elementary schools than the needed number meaning like 16% over the basic index of 100. What happens in the real world when you have such a great number of elementary schools over the real need? The population get more easier used with arythmetics and soon will appreciate more the prices paied on goods or services than the good's real values. The taxes payments on anyth. will rise (like now in my shit Romania) and the growing taxes will affect any services ... like medical services, administration and any other beaurocracy services too. The income of my country will be based rather on taxes for fantasy services from the population than on the current tradings. This way elementary schools will try to save the trading sector from profit payments or to destroy it depending on what other measures are taken, to create a small pockets hidden economy or to save the population from poverty ... it depends. If I cut these unuseful elementary schools I enforce population to seek it's real workforce price. And that's what I prefere. But I never do these like I did it here in this game ... so it must be a mistake. |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 08:58 pm I have problems with the debts of my country ... The spendings by the population are of 19B and the materials sold to other countries are of 14B ... and in the meantime I cannot get a loan from the World Bank at a lower rate than 12%. This really sucks? |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Tuesday, March 23, 2004 - 08:59 pm Plus ... I have a positive material balance. but for what use ... I'm broken by this World Bank instead of helped. Why? |
Genie Alpha | Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 01:22 am Uh...how am i related? |
Wartime Concubine | Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 01:42 am how's the game related?...I admit I didn't finish reading it though. |
Spassky | Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 01:48 am I wondered what this has to do with you, too. Maybe he just picked the highest ranked realistic president name (No offense, WC, but Heavily Medicated doesn't sound like a realistic name). |
Spassky | Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 01:49 am lol! I didn't see you there, WC. |
Wartime Concubine | Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 01:53 am I think he's refering to genies total lack of schools. |
Genie Alpha | Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 02:15 am But i do have schools. |
Wartime Concubine | Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 05:38 am oh, guess you do now. you didn't several weeks ago, right? |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 09:58 am Jinson, thanks that you were here for a second ... I was trying (with my ugly language) to ask if you agree with me and if it happens to say where I am wrong and where I am right may be you later will try to bring some changes in our simgame ... of course if you will talk with our game master about these problems. You're more close to him than I am and he will have time to listen you. I'm not same close to him ... |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 10:07 am If I see you interested ... I'll try more. I chosed to ask you and not other players because I am thinking that you are able to understand me more than others can. Excuse me if I was wrong ... |
Salamat Reborn | Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 10:02 am Lol, I think Genie does have a lot of influence with them. I think the loan system is retarded. It used to be fine when there was plenty of money before the resets. All you had to do was refinance down to 4%. But now it is like there is nobody loaning. |
Wartime Concubine | Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 06:32 pm yeah, like the average amount players have in loans is about 5T I'm guessing...if that. |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Friday, March 26, 2004 - 08:22 pm ... this last message says "hello again to you 'On Xu!" in case if you'll be here to read my suggestions ... meantime I'll try to entertain myself with Salamat (Reborn, like you insist!): I believe that for almost 90% of our players does not have an immediate importance a choice btw ... [if we] "hire" educational staff or ... [if we] "try to understand" educational things. But we promised that our simcountry will try to keep close with our real and desired lifes as much as we can, so , why not using the real educational process, with 4 types of workers and not 3 cotton slaves categories of workforce prices, New Low, High Never, Medium/"last payment against it!"? Makes more sense for me ... and if there are problems with understanding these ... I can bring details ... About the loans we really have a problem, but it belongs to the World bank high rates against health trades and economies and not to the lack of loans from players ... What do you think about these? |
Wartime Concubine | Friday, March 26, 2004 - 09:16 pm loans, lack of loans from players results in more world bank loans. all 4% loans come from players like me and genie. if you get a loan from the world bank, the rate will be based on the amount of loans you currently have. high value corps get 12% loans just because the corp has 100B in debt. not fair if the corp makes +20B per month like oil, imo. the rate should be based on the MV of the corp, or something else, just no the current loan amount. |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 07:34 pm ...most of C3's in a lack of enterprises and corporations and internal support get World bank loans at 4% ... like this "AtLex" got before I registered for it. Now, with a health trade and economy I get loans at 12%. When I registered AtLex had a debt of 456B and until a game month ago I had just less than 456B ... let's say around 100B ... so your explanations does have an effect in all the countries in this game except the countries where the scores points are unfairly cut with stories like you've just said. My country score was also unfairly cut by the huge lack of HighLworkers while my number of high schools was growing with less than my universities did whatever I tried to increase the priority for school teachers. It was a time when I've got more than 1000 univ.teachers and less than 2000 school teachers in a month ... at very high priorities ... these were cutting my score daily plus the rate of 12% for the World bank loans automatically "reserved". There are other bad jokes here too ... but ...what about my proposals, are we able to talk about true game improvements? |
Spassky | Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 11:40 pm When a country is reset, the loans it gave out at 4% are still there, but the World Bank takes ownership of those loans. That's one way you might see a 4% loan from the World Bank. |
Wartime Concubine | Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 03:28 am true game improvments or just make it really simple for you? can the education system be made better or more realistic? yes, at the expence of adding more progamming resulting in more bugs and server load. there is only so much you can do. if you want to make real changes, increase attack range or allow federation members use other members' bases to attack from. this would make the world alittle smaller and allow feds to have more influence around the world. remove the attack limit or allow OAAMBs to do some damage when attacking 10,000 at a time. change the contract system so corps producing the same products only have to make one contract. five hello's to you. |
Atlantic Lexiquariums | Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 08:00 pm ... do you really think that transforming these game into a fight in a bus will "increase" smth? Unfortunately I'm in a huge lack of money for my "public IE provider", but if I'll see that is still time for an immediate answer will come ... thanks for helloises!! |
Wartime Concubine | Monday, March 29, 2004 - 03:46 am yes, I think that if you make the fight world a fight world the game will be much better. |
